Cowboy Cooking
Cooking outside the way our pioneers did. We use cast iron, tripods, pits, open fires, charcoal or wood.
Lots of homemade things here.
Dutch Oven
This heavy pot with lid retains the heat very well and gives a flavor like no other. It can be used in an oven
or on an open fire with coals put on top of the lid to give it an oven effect. Great way to cook and pretty
much anything can be cooked this way.
Open Fire
This is a fire in a controlled area like a ring or pit using wood, charcoal, or cow chips.
Propane
We use propane if time does not permit a fire, or if location rules or safety does not allow the open fire.
Grill
The grill is the screen or bars the food or cooking pots are placed on over the heat source.
Smoked
Lots of foods can be smoked for just an added flavor or to cure it so it will last longer with out the strict
restrictions of keeping it cold.
Griddle
This is a flat suface used to cook on. We have small portable ones as well as a large one for fresh food off the
griddle. Great for pancakes, eggs, or just frying.
Skillet
We all probably know what a skillet is. Did you know they come in many sized? We cook in skillets up to 20
inches in diameter. That will make an omlet for the hungriest person!
Rotisserre
This is a way of cooking by skewering the item to cook on a rod and rotating it over the heat source until done. It
smells great and gives a flavor like no other. YUMMM M MM M.
Cream Can
This is an item used to put the cream in after it was separated from the milk to store it or take somewhere to process.
We use these to cook whole meals in for 40-50 people. It is the IN thing to do now and gives a completely different
taste to the meal. We also sell original cream cans if you want to get one before they are no longer available.
Tripod
This is what we hang our coffee pot or Dutch Over on to stay warm. You can also cook from a tripod.
Stick
Put a hotdog or marshmellow on and cook with the basics. We even do bread on a stick.
Smoker
Nothing like smoking meats, poultry, and fish. Or smoke it then put it into the Dutch Oven. WOW!
Deep Fry
Great for fish and french fries. Ever had a turkey this way?
